Toyota Rear Springs Backwards For Rear Samurai Springs?

Ok, so a buddy of mine is thinking of maybe using Toyota rear springs for the rear springs in his Samurai, but turning them around so the 20.5" length is at the back of the vehicle....

Would they still flex the same as "Rears up front"?
Do you see anything bad that could come from this?

Well when I did one of my Sammie's I used front CJ7 springs on it. Moved the axle about 1 1/2's back, I then used a missing link setup for the longer spring and it flexed pretty good. I couldn't see using the Toyota springs that way as being any different. I do think Toyota springs are wider than Sammie's so he may have to use different spring mounts.
