we can call it frankentrans......
« on: Apr 18, 2007, 07:59:33 PM »
Ok I still can't find a cheep r151f transmission, I plan on rebuilding it when I do find it so I don't see the sense in paying a boat load of money for it.

My question is can I take the guts out of a r150 and put them in a w56 case ??
they all look the same to me I realize their are some differences in total length but their are like 6 different w56 models.

I just figured if I can't find it I might be able to build one, I have a 91 4x4 w56 that I used parts from a 86 4x2 trans to fix and it is still going down the road.

So I humble myself to the transmission gods, and ask if this is possable and if so what model w56 would I need. I already have a top shift t/case for the rear and a w56 I think it's a "d" it has the vent between the shifters and was out of a 94 truck

are their any other alternatives to the r trans, lots of people have looked at this post but made no responce. the turbo 22ret was only made for a few years, so something has to be interchangeable. I guess I have some more homework to do...... I will let everyone know what I find

I saw that problem is he don't want to ship it to Va. well that and I just ordered my 30 spline longs so I'm broke again for the moment. I just posted a bunch of parts for sale and I will ship.
