That is what I was thinking. Going to get hot under there. Are those expanded front fenders functional for cooling? Or just looks?

thats pretty difficult to determine what it really is.
the only logical guess would be an 89-95 hilux

sweet!   I want a slammed yota truck!  There was a 71 Hilux for sale near me a couple months ago, guy only wanted 200 bucks for it.  I wanted to buy it so bad, but I have no where to keep it as a project

Not that I know of. He's in my club so I just see it every time I go to his house or we do something together or go to a show. He's got another cab that he is trying out a roll down big back window on, so that will be cool if he gets that working.

Finished some last minute details like a fire extinguisher mount (pictured) and a brake light mount (not pictured), among countless other little things, and got the firewall prepped and started priming it. Next will come seam sealer, another coat of primer, and some paint.

Got the interior painted today, and laid seam sealer down on everything. Got a second coat on the firewall. I'm not sure if he wanted the cage painted, the other car isn't, so I sent an email asking. It can wait until the second coat of primer tomorrow. The majority of the tunnel was done from the bottom side to keep it looking clean.





Hopefully some gloss gray will lay down tomorrow.

The steering is not the route I wanted to take, I wanted to use a Civic center steer rack and build a swing set. He said it sounded too time intensive to build. I ended up with over 50 hours in trial and error making this work, and I am still not happy with it. I don't even like posting pictures of it, because I feel it's the wrong way to go about the steering. A Civic rack would have put the input shaft inline with the column, and not pointing down at the ground.. That's about all I want to talk about the steering, it's a sore subject for me.

I cleaned the car so I took some pictures. I picked a bad spot for lighting, but there was a sketchy bum by the opposite wall. I will try again another time, since I like this spot. It's now sporting 18s from an '04 S4, an APR chip, tint, sport springs, sway bars all around, and a cat back exhaust system I built with a Borla and some stainless tips.

Starting to wide body the back of the Merc now. He gave me the go ahead since I am at a stand still with the transmission until he gets a new one.

Just a cell phone shot but I got word to start widening the rear of the car while I wait on the transmission. I was given no guidelines, just make it wider like the front. So I went with 2" wider, which is what the front is at the top.

Got the motor in and rolled it outside to sweep. Took a clear shot of the anti-rock link setup before the exhaust went on.




Now everything starts going back on. Tons of final assembly and plumbing left to do! Still need to wrap the DS exhaust. Intake tube is built and wrapped. It's not as close to the exhaust as it looks, but it's not far enough away.. Only place I could really go with it, hopefully it's not too hot.
