Nice, I was just on Holcomb Creek a couple of weeks ago.  No pics though, I forgot the camera. :smack:  That snow was crazy.  Totally didn't expect it.

I'm on the mountain in Running Springs (18/330).  PM me if you need more Toyotas for recovery!

Thanks but no thanks...  ;)

Last year this time i wheeled Holcomb with 1 other XJ, there was about 3-4ft of snow on the trail, we probably shouldnt have even continued it was so bad... but anyway about a 1/2 way in the trail i leaned the XJ over on the passanger side and since there was only 1 other rig he couldnt get me out(i didnt have a winch at this time).. I walked about 1.5 miles back to fawnskin and flagged down  2 FJ60's on 37's locked and had winches... when i told him what my situation was he immediately told me his winch doesnt work but would gladly come and help me out.. I rode with him back to the trail head and as soon as we pulled up to the first obstacle he looked at me and said "i aint going in there...." i tried to convince him that it looked alot harder then it really was and that my XJ on 33's (open/open at the time) made it halfway through he wouldnt have a problem.. But nope he wouldnt take his rig in.. instead he hiked in there with me to lend a "hand" like we needed more man power and not vehicles  ::) Once we got back to my rig we saw 3 other jeeps who had started the trail from the opposite side who gladly helped with the recovery....

So to answer your question... Ill leave the recovery to the Jeepers   :beerchug:

   It's just good fun!  I don't take the Jeep vs Toy thing that seriously.  I've owned an XJ and a MJ and liked them both.  I got stuck in the 4runner out at TDS.  Really stupid one, high centered on the rear diff and the fronts were just spinning in some sand.  Some Jeeps came by before the Toys I was running with noticed that I was gone.  They pulled me off and I took my share of ribbing for it.  Good thing there weren't any pictures of that either!  :shhh:

fixed it for ya.. :D

I'd agree, done that trail quite a few times with snow on it, you do slide around more but I never had any issues. When did he chicken out?

He never even attempter the first hill climb. We went though the little creek and climbed up to the right, as soon as you drop down to the left and you need to make a hard righ to go up this little hill he looked at that and said no way.

Ya when holcomb is slippery its dangerous. If you're familiar with the trail and you know where the shell of that burnt car is on the right down a little ravine, the road there had given way and was covered with snow... I went right in there on the passanger side. Couldnt find my camera in the rig there was :pokinit: everywhere but took some pics after i got it out.
kind of hard to tell..
