Check this out: www.yotatech.com/~cory/tech/jackson_/breather/breather.htm

Needs to be an under score between jackson and the /, I put it in but because of the underline you can't see it and it don't work. When you type it in it will work.

here is what i did... i used a $3 fuel filter and ziptied it behind my tail light... if my truck is in water higher than my tail light, i dont think i will be worried about water in my breather....

oh yeah, the whole mod was under $10 -- now thats something i can afford :)

X2 that, just go to Autozone and get fuel line... and get it up as high as possible...

i actually used some clear tubing i got from the hardware store right next to the brass fittings .... probably a lot cheaper than fuel line

I just ordered up some of the remote breather caps from toyota, per the thread on yotatech, and will be mounting them up high and installing a nipple in the housing.

And bear in mind, none of us are talking smack about marlin or their products.  All of us who've posted on this have undoubtedly dropped some coin on marlin products, but some of us choose to make the things we're able to build ourselves for ourselves to save green.  The way I see it, it gives us a little extra to buy more marlin parts that we can't build, or don't want to build ourselves :gap:

this is the way to go just get a 1/4 in pipe nipple with a 1/4npt and tap the housing to 1/4npt and thread the nipple in and press this on its sealed but still allows room for expantion and contraction

:dunno:  man, I just took the old breather cap out, and took it to a hardware store.  Went to their brass fittings, and found one that matched the thread with a hose barb.  cost me a 1.50 a piece.

they are metric but standard will work  4crawler talkes about tunning a tap to make it sae.  but i just wanted to post the pic someone else linked  i paid extra and got the toyota brather and snaged the efi  fittings out of mu old 22re and one out of a spare intake i had lying around!  could have got the 4runner breather out of a junkyard but i wasnt going down there.  i need to install them, but i need to get the engine in first.  this is a preaty simple task.  but worth while if you like water!

Yeah or don't waste time tapping the housing.  Brass is softer than steel and the 1/4 npt is so close it'll go in pretty easily from what I've heard.  Just screw it in.

That bellow looks like the hot ticket though!  You could just submerge the whole thing and not have to worry about running a lot of hose to keep the filter on the end dry.
