t-case ebrake questions.....
« on: Apr 11, 2007, 01:00:47 PM »
hey guys,
my issue is on my 80'  i have swapped a 5 speed and duals into it and now i need an ebrake. i have a front range crossmember on the truck and need to know where or how to get a t-case brake to work on it.  i cant use any other cross member due to the fact that my stock mounting points dont line up with anything anymore. thats why i put the front range cross member on. any help would appreciated.

I have the Allpro tcase/driveline brake on my 85 4runner.  You have to assemble it slightly different and you need a couple of longer bolts to go through the brake and FROR mounts but it works fine.  Brian at FROR told me that the Allpro is the only one that works, the brackets on the others won't allow for proper alignment with the crossmember there.

I don't have a pic of mine, but there is a good pic in this thread.

And a PM from Brian at Front Range

Quote
I dont have any pics. The 2 bolt plate the caliper mounts with is ubolted from the main large bracket, (the plate that mounts to the tcase) Then reinstall the caliper mount plate to the side closer to the tcase. Bolt the main bracket, and the caliper bracket are 3/18 (half of 3/8) Which is the thickness of our xmember. Then the order simply goes tcase, FROR xmember, and AP ebrake. This ONLY works on the AP brake, not on anyone elses version.
