Two hours worth of cleaning and I feel comfortable sitting in it.  I love just being able to take a hose to the inside of my truck    alot of simple green some bleach and some elbow grease.

  that is the plan.  while it was gone I got a loan approval for a newer car (will be a 4Runner for my work vehicle) as soon as i get that, let the begin!

lysol works well. blood huh? how much? as far as contamination goes, jsut wear gloves... most bloodborn pathogens are dead outside the body pretty quickly... except for the hepatitus strains that can live outside the body for a week!

You may want to call the detective and let him know that's what you're doing, that way they don't hold you liable if you do come up with something

those seem pretty cool... i think it'd be kinda anoing to have to take off the steering wheel everytime you make a stop and go in somewhere!!! but i hear they make a car real hard to steal!!!!!

what is your source on this? because it goes against all the stuff i just now googled and what my paramedic instructors taught me in class


i would actually be a lot mroe worried about hepatitis, as it can live for a week in dried blood and will kill you a lot faster than aids

I'm with jimbo on this, everything I've learned about the virus indicates that is essentially harmless in dried bodily fluids after a few hours, let alone days.

New here (looking for a 4runner) and to CA, I never knew SC was sketchy, just read this and psyched you got your rig back, sounds totally insane but in the end it worked out for you. 

Definitely treat the inside like a biohazard area, seriously.

Not sure why you had to pay to get it out of the yard if it is yours and was stolen then recovered.

I'll ask a stupid Q here, would a lojack help out with all of these thefts?

Someone has to pay for the services provided by the tow company, the police cannot leave the vehicle once they recover it so they must remove it from the location for safe-keeping. The vehicle is your responsibility so you must pay for the expense to move it. Something your insurance would pay for if you had full coverage. If they ever catch the idiot that took it you could sue them in small-claims but I don't see that happening.
