My reward in Santa Cruz CA! RECOVERED (stolen by junkies)
« on: Apr 03, 2007, 02:01:20 AM »
My reward for working a 15 hour day today is that when i walked out of our downtown office my 84 xtra cab pos was stolen. Downtown Santa Cruz 1/2  a block from pacific ave.  I am just completely disenheartend with humanity right now.

Nothing fancy yet, beat up, white and grey, it even had trash in the back. I don't get it.

find a pic in the morning.

Check down at beach flats, I'd put money that it is down there, or up in Bonny Doon.

Thanks everybody I really appreciate it.   You guys are great.

but I'm sure it's already been stripped for what little parts it had.    and ya i was going to go cruz around the flats and up highway 9 through the tweaker parts of Ben lomond and such.

right now my :rivers:  are turning into :maddest:

One pic is from 3 weeks ago at Carnegie and that is what it looks like right now (minus the mud).  the other pic is so you guys can see the "Ghostbusters" sticker on the tailgate and the licence plate, imagine it without the shell and bumper.

I wish Marlin Crawler had a theft replacement program for the Bling shift knobs.  i miss it already.   :sad2:

Again Thank you everybody!

My Shaffer tube doors just got dropped off by the UPS guy.  CRAP what an empy feeling!

Sure does.  then it makes me want to :bat:       and    to who ever did it.

I told the cop last night filling out the report that it was ok to shoot on site.  He didn't think it was funny, but i did and i was serious.   :talkingn:

Yeah, most of them don't have much of a sense of humor :dunno:  They just fill out a report, and tell you they'll get back to you. :blah:mostly  :pokinit: But every once in a while you,ll luck out. Hope it shows up.

Unfortunatly just the legal requirement for CA plus 10k medical so it's not covered for theft.   And I'm screwed for work right now since it was my only car.    I'm scrambling to try and finance something so i can keep working (buy new 4x4).

On the bright side there is a ton of parts in my house that i didn't get around to installing.  So I still have them.  Procrastination finally paid off.  :yesnod:

First off thank you for all of the  and support form you guys.    :smooch:

I am happy to say that my baby is back home  :woohoo:

It was not taken for parts like I thought but rather by some junkies that needed a joyride, a place to change, and a place to shoot up..   :shake: it was found on private property by the Levi (a known high drug use area) and towed to a local wrecking yard.

The good news.
All of the important parts were intact.
Nothing was broken. Not even a window.
Even the stereo was still in the dash.
It cost me $300 to get my truck out of the tow yard.  Yes this is good news because it is back home.  :hyper:

The Bad and Nasty news.
I got to spend almost 2 hours with the local police going through the entire contents of my truck establishing what was mine and what was the perps.
There was a ton of filthy :pokinit: in the truck.
Trash, old clothes, packaging from stolen stuff, bottles of bleach and water, Used syringes, heroin cookers, empty bags of drugs.  :reg:    Trash, Trash, Trash. All taken by the cop
Some sticky :pokinit: all over the passenger side floor.
Junkie blood in the cab.

The absolutely stupid
They went to wallgreens and bought supplies with a credit card and left the receipt in the truck with card number and time of purchase.  Probably stolen but it has been handed over to a local investigator.

The bizarre
They fixed my busted tail light cover.  :rofl2:
I had the new one on my passenger seat when the truck was stolen.  I guess they didn't want to get pulled over for a busted tail light in a stolen car while they shot up.  lol

Again thank you everybody.   :smooch:

Now I get to go and disinfect the entire inside of my truck.

:woohoo:

lysol works well. blood huh? how much? as far as contamination goes, jsut wear gloves... most bloodborn pathogens are dead outside the body pretty quickly... except for the hepatitus strains that can live outside the body for a week!

wow that is crazy man. I live in such a small world and I've never been exposed to drugs or its affiliated "tools" so this just blows my mind. Can't believe they left all of their crap behind.

Good thing its back!! Now the real pressing question on my mind is: How is the 10th Anniversary Marlin Crawler BLING Turtle Shift Knob?? :ack:
