DO YOU HAVE A VW??? PLEASE HELP ME

I don't know where to place this thread, and someone please put it in the proper area if needed, but i have 1979 VW Rabbit and i need an engine rebuild kit for her. Something that really worries me, is that i don't know what size the engine is.... i think it's a 1.6L, but i'm still not sure.

Yup, i have tried the VW forums, but i cannot get on them from this computer. If anyone has any suggestions or help, please post up. It will save me a lot on gas this summer...Thank you
