1981 3rz/w series transmission

hello,
  this is my very first post on this sight, and i need a little help. i am in the beginning of the 3RZ swap into my 1981 Toyota 4x4, but i have ran into some difficulties with the transmission. i am running dual transfer cases, this evening i just begun to install the new w-series transmission with the taco bell housing. the problem is the transmission bell housing sticks out about 8 inches from the fire wall, which only leaves about 23 inches from bell to grill. thats a big problem, since the rear of the engine to the fan is well over 24 inches. I'm not sure if the problem is the dual case or the extended skid plate or even where the skid attach's to the frame. i know these swaps have been done on this year of Toyota 4x4, is there any body out there who has the solution or any ideas. it would very much appreciated.

Let me guess, you're replacing the stock tranny with the w series, which you did notice was longer than the L tranny?  You'll probably have to move your crossmember mount further back to compensate.  There's a guy here who's done a few of these swaps, but I can't remember his name

Joe, you have been spotted.

Nate - this is the truck that's getting the KZ.  The RZ is only a temporary measure until the importer can get a diesel with the correct electronics.

Talk about a strike! The W-series transmission is 25.5" long while your L52 is 21.5" long. So you'll need to move your crossmember 4" back.

I tried responding to your PM, but your inbox is full already.  Basically I'm not sure what that six-speed designation is or whether it fits the V6 t-case, but remind me next time you come in and I'll see what I can dig up.
