Rear Driveshaft
« on: Mar 16, 2007, 10:48:38 AM »
I have a Hilux X-Cab 96 model 2.4 Diesel with a R 150
I will soon install my dual transfer,so the question is.
What should I do and what is the best solution to do with the rear driveshaft,

Measure flange to flange, take it to a driveline shop, have them shorten it/lengthen it.

Are you wanting a do it your self and hope for the best cure.     I  use 2 1/2 secudle 40 pipe. I have seen square, pipe, dom, and even some high dollar shafts serve their purposes well.

What I meant was,
Shorten the original 2 piece shaft,
or go for a one piece shaft with or without CV at the T-case.

Probably a one piece but are you running duals? A one piece shaft without duals would hit long before your tires could get to an obstacle.
