I actually know a guy who did that, he spent 20 years buying every half ton chevy 4x4 he could find under xxxdollars. He was hard core into 4x4 conversions on 50's chevys. Now at 65 he still has a barn full of axles trannies and old 49-58 chevy truck parts. Sad part is he had to buy a whole other truck just to have one that was complete. I tried to bargain a set of 8 lug 3/4 ton axles from him and all I got was......" I could probably part with them for your first born"....Ouch!
