leather/vinyl repair
« on: Feb 20, 2007, 04:59:05 PM »
has anyone had experience with those leather or vinyl repair kits they have? the ones you always see on TV or in stores where they repair a couch with a tear in it....

i have a few small cuts in a steering wheel i have, and i want to use the wheel, but the little cuts bug me

My buddy used a vinyl repair kit that he got from JC Whitney I think to fix his seat with mixed results.  He had small pokes and rips from the PO sitting with tools in his back pocket, it fixed the holes but looked like chit, didn't match color and looked like wet paint all the time.

Just find one in a junkyard, get an aftermarket wheel or a cover. That repair crap works on seats but may not work so well on a steering wheel.

Get a new wheel, you can probably find one as cheap as the repair kit
