CNC Shackles

I was thinking about machining some shackles out of aluminum, just wondering if you guys think aluminum would hold up to some trail abuse.

I think I saw some All Pro shackles that were aluminum a while ago but otherwise I have never seen them. You can make steel ones for 6$ that are better suited so i don't really see the good in it unless you want some  Which I think would be cool. It would be cool to write something offensive on them. Nobody has shackles with offensive phrases or pictures on them

Yeah I was thinking about just putting "TOYOTA" on them, but I am not quite sure.  It would be quite easy to do.  I just not sure if the aluminum will be strong enough.

My friend runs those aluminum shackles. They hold up fine. I did question his sanity when he bought them but they proved me wrong.

Troy over at cal. mini truck dis. is running the allpro aluminum shackles and has had no problems.

the aluminum will wear far faster at the bolt holes than steel. Look to see them elongate over time. 6061 will not break readily, but cast will.
