new to toyota need some advice
« on: Feb 09, 2007, 06:12:34 PM »
hello all

so im new to the toyota thing im a ford man at heart but i have a 98 tacoma now thats convincing me pretty good however i do have a few problems.  one it wants to idle at around 1500 to 2000 regardless of any temp.  its a 3.4  5 spd i checked the little thermo thingy on top of the engine and adjuted it all the way out an it still does it no vacum leaks that i can find anybody with some help.  also number two im wanting to do  a sas with the all pro kit (like the coilover idea)  and was wondering how well a fullsized axle would work fo it.  like a 44 or a 60.   i realise ill heave to get some extended fenders was planning on it anyhow.  i have two good leads on 44s one with 373 gears and the other with 411 the 411s are close to the stock gears so i would really like that but any help would be aswesome from some toy guys.

reklund  will have to help you on the  idle issue,
im a true  toyota purist i guess  but if the 44's  are handy  go ahead,  the 4.11  and 410  should be ok with each other
