Hey guys
IM going to be doing a solid axle swap on my truk and was wondering what lokkers you guys run in the 8" diff i run a detroit lokka in the rear not EZ and was thinkin ofputing 1 up front what you think.
Also what leaf springs do you guys use for a reasonable ride on the road but flexy offroad.
Anything i need to look for when ripping of the ifs ?
Thanks Dave

I used my origional rears up front.  I love them you will have to add a few leafs because they are so soft and you get O lift out of them if you just bolt them on.  I made a 2" drop hanger on the front and longer shackles.  I probobly have about 4" of lift out of this setup.
You can try and search or check out the thread called "Ive been busy"  That is the thread of me doing my suspension.

what's a lokker? ;)

I run a lock right locker, cause it is cheaper than a detroit.. If I was loaded I'd have an arb

if the axle is gunna have hubs that u can disingage id just weld it its cheap and easy and itl hold if u know how to weld and do it rite, or get a detroit or a spool which will do the same thing as welding the diff. if it doesnt have manual hubs then go with a limited slip  so u can turn on pavement. if ur not poor like me go to www.allprooffroad.com they have sas kits and parts to make it easier

I run a ARB up front in mine and love it.  I have no hydro assist steering yet and when the front tires get in a bind I just throw the swithc to let some tention off and keep going. You you could do this by getting out and unlocking your hubs with a detriot but you have to get out

If all you use it for is rock crawling then, by all means just run a lockrite (cheap!) but, if you ever intend to drive on snowy/icy roads that's the last thing you want up front. I have an early Bronco and it has a front locker and it's downright scary on icy roads (in 4X) but, unstoppable on the rocks! So, my 85' Toyota p/u runs an open front diff. until I can afford an ARB and it hasn't really kept from going where I want to go   it just takes a little more effort, tests your skill as a driver more too. Just my 2 cents, though........Hans
