I am in the market for a header, that I am going to put on my 84 carbed 4Runner.  Being that I am in california this would have to be a smog legal header with a carb#.  I am looking for experienced opinions and if possible proven facts on wich is the best header out there. So what you guys got for me?

I here that the nwor headers pass the sniff but not the visual. I got my runner from NY with nwor headers and will reg in AZ.

A smog guy with poor "vision" would come in handy as long as your truck is running good in all other respects.
There is no good excuse not to follow the pick-up!

Ya I was looking at the nwor headers and liked them.  I was thinking of getting the carb # off of another 22R smog legal header and stamping them on to a plate then tach welding it to the top of the header for the smog tech to see. You think that would work?

it mite, if you can :"fake" a carb sticker. you could put it on you iner fender. or just get a carb sticker from some thing elas and say its for the header.  the problem is the nwor header only samples one runner for the O2 sencer.

P.S. the nwor header is sweet. I like it a lot.

I just installed a TRD header for my EFI swapped 22R, and I LOVE it.  I payed out the arse for it, even with my employee discount at the dealership, but it fits great, has a ceramic coating on it that I've yet to discolor and the 02 sensor port is in the intermediate pipe so it samples all 4 cylinders.  I finished it off with a high-flow Random Technology catalytic converter, 2.25" piping and a flowmaster muffler.  I've got too much money tied up in an exhaust system, but it is exactly what I wanted.  If you don't mind the extra cost, the TRD header is the way to go.  Pics available on request.

I paid $280.00 employee cost for the header, but retail should be in the $350 range.  For some reason, my photo software won't let me resize the photos to under 100k, but I'll send pics to your private email if you wish.  I'm on my way out the door to Las Cruces for the Chile Challenge, and won't be back until Sunday night.

$280 is not any more than what everyone else wants and LC said I have to buy the lines to my smog pump for an extra $50 on top of the $300 for the header. And I forgot all about TRD I have a friend at the local dealer too.
