5 Stud Knuckles
« on: Jan 26, 2007, 11:02:03 AM »
Since Marlin wont be selling the six stud knuckles, I am interested to see who has the 5 stud knuckles and what hi steer arms they are using.  I have the cast arms from marlin and wonder if I could use them or if I should bump up to the billit arms.  I believe 4rnRIck has done this mod.   Also I would like some info on the dana studs in the toyota knuckles and what needs to be done.

Thanks

It's already been done by Bobby Long.  No sense in "stealing" someone elses idea. :blah:

hes asking for info/advice on it......

as far as stealing ideas, so he plans to make something and put it on his truck, because he has seen it on someone elses truck, thats not stealing.... now if i were to design a prototype part and i asked you for adivce on it - then you were to run off to my parts supplier and get it built and sold before me, that would be stealing an idea....

I assume the 5 stud knuckle is a homemade addition to the normal 4 stud knuckles? I can imagine how this can be done but I would like to see pictures as well. Not that I think anymore studs are necessary, just keeping the ones you have tight.

Or you could just torque your knuckles before every run and have the same results.

Way too much work. :gap:

From the picture I saw you need to add some other things to your list of things to torque before you wheel!

 :gap:
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

Moab Tested & Rubicon Approved

Ok, it works for most of the time, except for "knuckle breaker Brad"

where have you been?

trail-gear ripped of marlin's design and went to production before marlin could, marlin decided to be the better man, and drop out of the legal fight and has chosen not to support trail marts evil ways....
