buick 3.8
« on: Jan 16, 2007, 08:36:04 AM »
a buddy of mine is swapping a 3.8l buick into his datsun and it seems he cant get any sort of info about a few things. He's trying to get a T-5 608 transmission and would like to know if the starter is going to be located in the same place on the motor and tranny. if so will the teeth on the starter and the teeth on the flywheel ring gear match up, what clutch.pressure plate should he use, and will his datsun master cylinder hold up. i know this is the TOYOTA section, but i figured that nissan/datsun are like the little brothers of Toyota that noone likes to talk about. ANY help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

Fordh8r has the same engine but he's not sure what tranny will bolt up? The rear wheel drive is a 90 deg v6 that is the same as a sbc. The front wheel drive engine is a 60 deg v6 that is the same as ?????????? Try calling Advanced Adapters. They might be able to help.

The 3.8 is a great engine except if you try to run it on any angles, they don't like it at all. So if you do this don't let it run for very long or it may blow. The 4.3 Chevy is a much better choice.
