Ignition HELP!!!!!
« on: Feb 18, 2004, 09:21:17 AM »
i replaced my coil and sparkplug wires the other day ran fine for like two days and now my truck stalls on the freeway.....never used to do that.

i have put everything back, and it still stalls. it will run fine around town, but as soon as i get on the freeway for about 20 minutes....stall :help:..........

the funny thing is...when i just touch the distributor to coil wire...it runs fine until something happens.....then i touch it again and it runs....

 :smack:
i need help....
thanks,
aaron

Im thinking that your coil wire could have a break internaly.  If it will run fine then stop all the sudden you pop the hood wiggle the wire I'd deffinately say bad wire.  Try the old one to check.

FIXED IT!!!!

it turns out it was missing a ground.....it seems the ignitor grounds to the coil thorugh the bolt......my new coil only came with one bolt hole, wrong one,.......
