Drivetrain selection. HELP
« on: Jan 12, 2007, 06:31:08 AM »
I can't decide on what drivetrain to go with in my truggy. I want to run an auto for sure but I just can't decide on the best way to go. I have a 3.0 and A340H in it now. The engine runs great but I hate how cluttered everything is, with a 22re I can cut down on alot of that. My third option is a 302, C6, and atlas. I have the engine tranny and all wiring it just needs rebuilt. I am afraid if I go with the 302 I will start breaking stuff and I would rather stay away from that as much as possible. My rig now consists of D60's front and rear 5.38's and welded diffs. I won't be able to start on this swap for a couple of months but I want to be able to make the decision on the drivetrain so I can start collecting parts. :help:

RUN A 2.7 OR 3.4, STAY AWAY FROM THE 3.SLOW, OR RUN THE 22RE WITH TRIPLES WITH A 4.7 IN THE LAST CASE, BUT I WOULDNT RUN THE V8, ITS OVERKILL

I would like to go with a 3RZ but they are a little out of my price range right now. I can get a 22re for next to nothing.

if you have 60's uder it why not build a mild v8 and not worry about it, just go with the 4 speed  atlas

I keep leaning towards a built 22re with my auto. I have even thought of having everything in the tcase cryoed. I don't know, I can't decide.
