I have a 3.0 V-6 so just getting a 4.70 set up is gonna cost me $1200. The dual case ready to bolt in the V-6 is $1995. I'm not super hardcore and a noob to rocks from the Pacific NW. I'm building a 94 4-Runner and want to do it right. Any pros and cons to the dual cases to justify the extra money. For your normal weekend warrior wheeler that wants to run the Con would the 4.70's suit my needs..? any input would be great.. Thanks

This has been covered many times.

If you have the money go duals, if you don't have the money, save money until you can go duals.

Well if you live in the pacific NW you have just as much mud as rocks, I live in oregon, and most of the time i'm in stock low range, I just got duals and havn't got to use it yet, but duals are mostly just for jumping to builder to builder, very rarly do i need duals around here, but I wanna take trips down to cali, thats the only reason why I got it and if you replace it wil 4.7 it'll be to low, and if you get duals you can have the choice of having stock low, or slow low,

I would go duals, and If I was you maybe build your cases yourself, it's quite easy and saves you big $$$$$ If you not comfortable with that, take pictures as you take it apart, and the bolts you take out put them back in the threads, so you don't lose anything, and if you figure out in the middle that you can't finish it, put everything in a box and run down to your local mechanic shop and have them finish it.
  Just my thoughts!!

We out here,  just spread out alot.

Few locals had the 4.7 only,  every one missed their stock 2.28 gears.  I did duals and 4.7 and can't imagine not having both.
