Are Ford 60 outers and Chevy/ Dodge 60 outers interchangeable??

I am wondering if the all of the Kingpin Dana 60 outers are the same? Specifically the knuckles? Obviously the housings are reversed but are the axles the same otherwise? Thanks.

To my understanding Chevy and Dodge are interchangeable but Fords are not. Ford stub shafts are a bit longer then Chevy/Dodge.

That figures. I have access to a parts Ford 60. If somebody can tell me for sure that would be great. I am considering a Diamond with 60 outers and would like to use the Ford 60 to complete the assembly.

Don't do it man! Diamond 60s are more dough than they  are worth. It would be worth wile to retube the 60 with some dedenbar SP? Cs. I would personally start with a chevy 60 but they arent jumping in my lap.  I do have a couple leads on one dodge 60 for mucho deniero and a dana 70 front with some funny big 6lug pattern and hydro assist.

I like the 9 inch 3rd option and the ground clearance. I don't really have any leads on a chevy or dodge 60 at the moment. I had the money a couple years ago and a buddy tried to sell me a set of locked with 4.56 60s for 1100 and I didn't do it.

Is there anything that makes a dodge dana 60 mount different on a toyota than the chevy 60s? I heard that a dodge 60 has a mounting situation that makes it difficult on a toyota.

i'm not shure but I thnk, chevy 60s use 2 ubolts on the pass/diff side and dodge 60's use 1 ubolt and 2studs. Here is a jeep from this past weekend and his solution to the problem.

Ford outers are different than Chevy and Dodge. Chevy and Dodge use basically the same everything with the exception of the inner shafts. Chevy uses 1 u-bolt on the passenger side and 2 bolts, sometimes studs. Dodge uses 1 u-bolt and 2 studs but the studs are spaced closer together than on the Chevy. The Chevy spring mounting surface is 32" on center and Dodge is 32.5. Chevy is 69" WMS and Dodge is 67" IIRC. If you can get your hands on either, do it. I've mounted Chevy and Dodge 60s on trucks that they didn't come from and as long as you are willing to make it work, you can. On my old F-Toy (Toy frame) I had a full width Dodge 60 mounted up and had no problems once I had a plan.

Thanks for the advice Fred. Where there is a will there is a way. Why does Dodge always have to be so backwards?
