im 16...just bought a 85 toyota pickup....22r motor......first of all i was wondering if i should stick with the carb or go EFI??? i have a list of stuff im going to do to the truck......but first i would like some advice on what to do with the motor choice,,,,,

another thing i was wondering about is......i want to go 5 inches with 35 inch tires....and the springs i was thinking of using were skyjacker....all pro.... or a.o.r makes a busheye spring or whatever and i heard that is pretty good

85Yota22rE

no but i know where one is setting down the road from my house....

I don't have personal experience with the aor orbit eyes but they claim an extra 4 inches of  flex on the ramp.  A friend of mine is running AllPro springs and they work great.  I think you will be fine with the 5 inches and 35's as long as you get the springs with center pin offset to move you front axle forward at least a 1/2 inch

also.......i want to go low gearing but dont know how low....i was thinking of doing a dual marlin of course but leaving the transfer case stock gearing going with 4.7 1 with the adapter and running 5.29 r and p because of the 35 inch tires.... but i dont have any experience with somthing that low so i dont know if that is going to be to much

I personaly wouldn't go lower than 5.29's in the diffs cause of strength and according to the marlin chart that setup up would yeld a crawl ratio of about 221.1 with a 5spd and they say that is ideal.  I am running dual cases with stock gears and 5.29's and that puts me at 110.1.  I can see were a little bit lower would be nice with the 4 banger, but not often.  I run bolth cases in low and 2nd gear through most of the rubicon

84runner

It all depends on if you like your money

another question is berfields....what is a good way to get ride or reduce breaking those things

WHITE_TRASH

Of course you can upgrade your birf's.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Red_Runner

well lets see some pics of this thing befor you trick it out and about the gear thing if I could afford to do it again I would og with 4.88 insted of 5.29 because I like to drive mine and if your going to use dualcases I say go with 4.88 unless its strictly a wheeler but its all personal preference and dont forget those pics

thanks for welcoming me 85yota

Red_Runner

have you decided on the springs you whant to get? When i get the $$$ im going to get the a.o.r. i called then one time to ask a few Questions and they suprsed the hell out of me they whanted to know everything about my rig so they could design the spring to my runner. You should give them a call and see what you think. PICS PICS PICS
