I figure it would be faster than 12's.  I mean stock sti's with around 300hp run low 13's, sti's arent super light either.  I know hp doesn't translate to quarter times but I just thought it would run 11's or so.  12's is not slow however.  My truck feels fast running high 14's so I can only imagine what a 12 second car feels like.
i guess we will see-i dont wantto make some stoopid claim and them be disapointed, so im trying to be realistic, but you are right, it will be a feww hundred pounds lighter than an sti, and have more power

kinda, but the best way i can describe the sound is a quiet harley davidson. i parked it next to toybuilts harley and they sound the same, just the car is quiet volume wise

motorider228

dan, quit keeping us waiting!  I want to know how this beast runs.  When do you get it going let us know if it's faster than your last subaru.

It by far is faster then anything ive driven before, and i havent tuned it or got it running well yet. and ive driven almost evrything fast you can think of, zo6-porches,vipers,stis,evos (thats why im banned from the roseville automall)   ya its fast as hell right now. i expect that when its done and tuned properly taht it will be nearly impossible to drive on the street as a daily driver... the clutch in this thing is brutal- when i drove it the other day i did a 4 wheel drift at only 4k rpm...on accident  :ha_ha: i actually lost control of the car, let off the gas, and stalled it! i so wasnt expecting all 4 tires to break going up hill on dry pavement. just think of what will happen when its tuned and i turn up the boost?!  i better start saving for a new tranny

motorider228

haha yeah that tranny will be gone lol.  That thing will scream when it's all tuned.  Haha you should do one pass at the drag strip with her pushing 20lbs of boost.  It would rip.  You will probably be able to daily drive it if you turn the boost REALLY low, like maybe 1 or 2 pounds if it's that bad.  Do you have a manual or electronic boost controller?

i have a manual, and the lowest i can turn it down is "wastgate pressure" which is 7-9 psi, or in laymans terms "my neck hurts"

motorider228

ahh that sucks.  The turbo i'm looking at buying for my truck comes with an electronic boost controller where i can control the boost anywhere from 0-15 psi.

well, a little update- ive been driving around for a week or so in the car, i got it to idle and everything, but there are many issues, mainly do to the lack of communication between the ecu and various sensors, ive been running a modified original engine wiring harness, and began to dive into a one off fabrication of the correct harness-which sucks.

i will be taking ej22t plugs, re pinning them so that i can use ej22 ecu and sensors on a ej20.....what the hell did i get my self into? here is a mess of wiring for referance

but while i was driving it i can report that it is indeed scary fast, loud, and handles great

there is a section of freeway here that has two exits about 1/2 mile apart, and in that time i can get the car up to 120 in 4th gear....not too bad. the motor screams though, and the builder informed me it should be good to 9,000 rpm.....ive got it to 6k already and it sounds soooo good.

heres a few update pics
