what do you think about this runner?

1988 TOYOTA 4RUNNER lifted, V-6, new tires, loud system, runs great, sunroof,

They want $3000 it has 150k miles. body is straight with a macco paint job, nothing great. interior is fairly clean but the sun roof glass is cracked.

Tehachapi California-just looked up the vin and its a salvage title.

I wouldn't run away because of a salvage title, just look VERY carefully.  Also, find out as much info about that motor as you can.  See if it had the headgasket recall done, when, what was done, etc.  ask if it has blown any heads before, and what was done to repair it.  Once those heads blow, if you just put new gaskets on, it'll work for a while, but it seems that unless you do it THE RIGHT WAY, resurface the heads, posibly the block, etc., it winds up being a chronic problem.  I'm not saying stay away from the motor, but find out as much info as possible.

looks clean. sounds like a fair price as long as the 3.slow is legit

I decided not to get it, there are plenty of runners around that are cheaper and have a clean title.

Good for you wise choice. If you were going to use it as a strict off road rig I would still say look for something cheaper. That person who is selling that runner for that much money with a salvage title should be a shamed of themselves.
