so i bought a set of 15x8 rock crawler rims with a 2.5 inch back spacing and i put on a set of rockstomper bead locks. heres my problem. i can't get the tires on now... with all the back spacing the wheels have the rim is reversed in the sence that the inner beed goes past mid rim and the tires won't strentch  enough to mount... any idea's or suggestion.. thanks

if you are mounting them yourself, get a set of tire spoons.....

get some tire lube too, you will be amazed at how much the tires will stretch...

i mount my own tires, and even though they are only 31s, i dont even use tool, i just lay the tire on the groud, and jump on the rim/tire in a certain way.... of course, my 250 pound body helps exert a little bit of force when jumping up and down

so you beadlocked reversed rims? now the safety bead is on the outside and is locked  :talkingn: have fun (when you actually get the tires mounted) loosing inside beads ALL THE TIME when aired down!! you have totally defeated the purpose.

did he get reversed rims? it doesnt sound like he did, but the way his post is, to me anyways, it seems a bit confusing

yeah im dont see the reasoning behind that, and 15x8 sounds narrow for 39.5's

dov'd85

i wanted to 15x8 the tens are to wide and they loose a bead easier... from me experience and i welded a safety bead on the inside of the inner bead so that it would not blow the inner bead... how is putting bead locks on reversed rims pointless?

maybe this will help you see.

the safety bead is actually a 'shelf' the tire bead sits on. the image on the left is a non revd wheel, see how wide the bead or 'shelf' is on the inside compared to the outside of the wheel? now look at the image on the right, the wheel has been reversed and the safety bead is now on the outside with the narrow bead on the inside. locking the wheels makes no difference but its the inner bead that is now vulnerable, hence locking reversed rims is pointless cuz you WILL loose beads anyway. bring lotsa starter fluid and matches with you  :talkingn:

just get a standard BS ( standard is usually 3.5"-3.75")rim and use 1" spacers to get the same desired BS a reversed wheel gives

dov'd85

well just sold my beadlocks to my buddy... he had 37 mtr's i am going to spend the money now on some aluminum bead locks
