price of a 22re engine
« on: Jan 23, 2004, 08:37:10 AM »
I have a friend that got in a wreck with his 2-wheel drive 22re truck with around 100 thousand miles on it. He’s considering whether he should buy it back or not. I’m looking at maybe buying the engine and all the needed equipment to swap it into my ’80 4x4.

I would like to know what I should offer him for it?

With a 100,000 miles, this is a hard call--
The engine would use oil, and may need a chain, guides, seals, head gasket......run a compression check ect.
Has there been any work performed to the engine?
How much life is left?
Get it as cheap as possible.
$200-$300.00?
Call a couple wrecking yard and ask what they would offer for the truck.
