tight tolerances going down under here, thats billys rear shaft its about 2" from being perfect but I got a perfect unmolested 85 front and a nice section of sched 40 pipe to build a perfect bombproof up from once I get the shocks on to see what the lengths at full compression and droop are gonna be and ill be riding smooth with a round shaft for my first time since owning a toyota in 04

Ramrod

woohoo, my coilovers just showed up pretty much a week earlier than I expected and they look pretty bling for the price and also look like they'll fit a whole :pokinit: ton better than the others not to mention they are probably half the weight.  Time to go bend up some of billys tube for some hoops before he gets off

gotrocks

What kind of c/o did you go with?

Hyena

i am pretty sure he went with the F-O-A 2.0's.

Hyena

what do your 16's measure from eye to eye collapsed?  if the numbers are right on there website then i will be running an 18 inch coil over up front.   :o

Ramrod

they are 27" with 5" of shaft showing!  nice and short.  busted my bandsaw blade today so I didnt really have anything to cut tube with so had to find other things to do besides mounting the shocks which ended up being hacking out my fenderwells and taking a 1.5" c-notch out of the passenger side frame above the panhard and steering

Ramrod

didnt take any, it was just a rough cut, ill get out there today and get some :pokinit: done though

gotrocks

I want to see the new bling coilovers.  I'm thinking about getting a set of FOA's for my 85.  The price just seem so dang cheap, I don't want to quality to be cheap as well.  I don't want to regret not just spending a couple hundred more to just get a really nice coilover.

Hyena

thats about right. looks like it is 18's in front for me.

Ramrod

that should be sick!, here is my progress for the day.  could have got a ton more done but I had to drive super far to get a bandsaw blade and then back for lunch and then once I was making some killer progress the power went out for a couple hours.  still knocked a good amount out

still waiting for my :pokinit: from ballistic to come  and I have alot more cleanup work to do along with lifting the motor but im super happy with it all so far

Sluice Box Hero

Ramrod

ya, im going to have to relearn how to drive this thing.  It should be pretty solid I hope and hopefully all the springrates are dialed and I dont have to mess around with them to much

Sluice Box Hero

ha, relearn yours. . . look at me, 6 months from stiff ass shitty leafs to coilovers and linked front and rear. . . . i really need to shake mine down pretty good a few times before i feel comfortable going to hammers for sure.

Ramrod

haven got the heims yet, still need to do that and lift the motor an inch and possibly bend the panhard before I can take advantage of that frame notch

Ramrod

its getting close, waiting for my other coils and heims to flip the steering it will be driveable pretty much

also gotta finish that notch and lift the motor before I can use all 5" of uptravel

Hyena

You using 3/4 heims for the steering?

kiyul4130

he should. even half inch would be more than enough. just bore those beezy's out and run a bolt through them with a nylock.

ya 3/4" hiems the tie rod is gonna barely hit the diff when I turn all the way but I think it will just deflect itself fine.  got all the shock mounts fully welded yesterday and put on some new v6 calipers up front that I found in the shop also dropped the truck down to full compression but it doesnt make it all the way since I gotta lift the motor and also bend the panhard

Ramrod

progress has been a little slow, getting burnt out.  ballistic is lagging ass. im guess im gonna roll out and pull the front axle out and lift the motor up then get cracking on the panhard after that

Ramrod

wish i didnt care so much and just built it with a 6" lift instead of trying to keep it so low, would be pretty easy

Doof

it might be easier but once your done this is going to be an even more bad ass rig thats low and slow that fully gets it when you want

TIMS89CRAWLER

nah it is wayyyyy better nice and low! keep up the top notch work bro! :beerchug:
