Hey guys, Glen finally got me over here.  I just thought I'd chime in on this thread since it's something I've been working on for quite some time.  I've been working on compiling a list of Toyota owners from around the Midwest for over a year and a half.  I started out with 8 states and I've widdled it down to 4.  I turned over Arkansas to Glen since he got an AR chapter of TTORA up and running.  Right now, I'm taking care of KS, IA, IL, and MO.  So if any of you are interested in this, please let me know.  I'll put both of my email addresses at the bottom of this post.  Just drop me an email and I'll let you know what kind of information I'm looking for on the list.  To receive the list, you have to be on the list.

Basically, I want to put together a very (at least at first) informal group of "locals" that like to actually wheel, when possible.  Jeep groups seem to be so much more organized....not to mention plentiful.  I'd like to bring a little bit of that to the Toyota community.  We can use this contact list to keep in touch via email, as well as use it for emergency contact info in case someone has any trouble while traveling.  I figure that we really don't need to have our own personal space on the web just yet.  There are plenty of national boards, like this one, that we can utilize to communicate any events that we may be participating in.  Anyway, please feel free to contact me in regards to the contact list, as well as any thoughts, concerns, questions, suggestions, or anything else you can think of.

Thanks!

Josh

So would you be using the names on your list to organize trail rides or what? What is the purpose of the list? Is it so people can find locals to wheel with that they may have not known? It sounds like a cool idea.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

Yes, that's exactly what it would be used for.  In addition to communicating wheeling trips and such, it could/would be used for emergency contact info.  Say like Glen just made a trip up through Missouri and Illinois.  If he would have had trouble along the way, he could have called one of us up for some help.  Tools, recovery gear, etc.  Or say you and a couple of buddies were up in the area wheeling and had some trouble and didn't have what you needed to fix whatever it was.  You could call someone up and have them come out to help or whatever.  That's what I had in mind for it.

Collier,
I got your info.  I'll be sending out the most up-to-date list this afternoon.

Everyone, please remember to NOT forward this list to anyone.  The rule is and always will be, you've gotta be on the list in order to receive it.  I'm trying to keep this commitment to all of the folks that HAVE given up their contact information.  It's only fair that way.  :D

If you haven't gotten me your contact info yet, please drop me a line at [email protected] and I'll get you added.

Thanks to everyone that has contacted me already.

Just pic out a local who has lived there his whole life and owns a toyota. Take that sucker wheeling and talk up his trucks capabilitys. It won't take long and a new wheeling buddy/ club member is born. :twocents:

Hey 89Youder.   Hi from House Springs.  Theres a bunch of yota guys from Missouri and Arkansas going to Flatnasty for a few days over new years.  You are welcome to wheel with us there.   Introduce yourself and your truck in the newb section so we can see what you got.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
