Will Unimog axles fit an '85?
« on: Jan 17, 2004, 01:08:34 PM »
I'm just curious here, will unimog axles fit under a Toyota 4x4? are they wide enough? The track width is 61". I think it would be pretty sick, portal hubs, up to 7.08:1 gears and they are very strong, and the diff's on the correct side. Would it work to drop one in a toy?

Oh yea, forgot to mention cable actuated lockers in front and rear unimog axles, these can be swapped to run off an electric solenoid too.

what mog ax;es are ypu using. 404s are on the wrong side as far as the diff goes. and they have a track width of 69 inches. my buddy has a set on his chevy that he is building and they are $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to build. wheel hubs for one axle is 650 bucks plus you got to get the rotors and calipers. oh yeah the hub bolt is torqued on at over 700 ft lbs. other than that they will fit. ohh yeah dont forget obout the suspension.

Correct side diff, cable lockers, choice of gears, and disc brakes...

They are some cash, but its worth it.
