My new toy!!!
« on: Sep 08, 2006, 08:54:50 PM »
Well, I got a new toy to play with when on the trails!  No it's not a toyota, but it will help me on the trails for sure!  It definitely fits in my tool box better than it's older bigger brothers!!

The red one is older than me, it's a pro something, something XL homelite!  It needs carb work!  36" bar
The next one is a Pro 50/045v.  It eats starter cords!  But runs strong!  36" bar   Modified to cut hedges!  Notice the lack of safety features!
The third one is a Pro 046, its HOT!!  It was free from a family friend thats a faller!  He told me to watch out!   He   gave me abunch of chains that have been ground down to pull some serious sawdust!!  36" bar
The last one is the little brother!  The new one.  A pro 029 with a 18" bar!
What's not pictured here is the homelite that is at least 50 years old that has a 2 speed transmission!  Brother-in-law got it running and he said it was all he could do to run it!

I have a urge to go cut some wood now!!
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

I wish I had bpics of it, but my bro-in-law decided to leave it in Cottage Grove on the family tree farm!  I get him to take a pic next time he's down there!

My dad has a homelite pro XL that he bought new in '76.  30 yrs later it still starts on the first pull and provides wood for our camp and his house for every winter.  It's too bad the new Homelites aren't made like that.
A bad day of wheelin' is better than a good day at work

Yeah!  That old homelite has cut more wood than I would even begin to add up!  We used to sling cedar on the weekends, cut firewood for the entire family, and it cut our hedges for about 25 years!  Right now it has some carb issues, but since it doesn't have any safety features the local saw shop won't work on it!  bastards, I love to have it running!  Especially with the muffler blown out and gone!  This thing sounds like it's on steroids when running it's soooo loud!
