where are all the 4cly 2nd gen 4runners?  Do they even exist?  I seriously just looked at like 95 3.0 runners on craigslist and there was only 1 4cly but it was already sold.  If I find one am I stupid for not buying it?

no, the stock 4 cylinder in a runner like that won't have the power you want.  those runners are heavy comparied to the first gen 4runners.

I had a friend that found a 95 4 runner with the 22re and he was all stoked about building a family crawler out of it.  BUT.... it had the V6 style chain driven t-case.  Both him and I were stumped :dunno: He talked to someone at toyota and apperently all the 95's have the same t case, 22re or 3.slow.
This of course was the reason for the 4 cyl in the first place, so he could add the 4.7 gears and maybe later a doubler...... But he just gave it to his wife.
You have a Jeep?  That's cute.... So does Barbi.

Was it an auto...all the auto trnnys have the chain case, don't matter the engine.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

well I know there out there I always am keeping my eye open for them.  If you want the rarest 2nd gen runner find a 2 door 4 cyl. 5 sp.  I've only seen probably 2 of those ever.  I personally like my first gens A LOT and wouldn't trade them unless I dessperatly needed 4 doors. I love taking the top and doors off and crusing around.

is that rare because its a 3.0 with a 5 speed and its a '95 as well or just because of the 3.0 - 5 speed combo.  because i have a buddy with a '90 4runner that is a 3.0 with a 5 speed.

I have a rolled 91 with a 22re and a g58, which is chain drive.  I was a little perplexed and irritated after buying it, but what ya gonna do?

It is rare for 1994 3.0 4Runner and even more rare for a 1995 3.0 4Runner to have a manual transmission.

na there are tons of 5sps on craigslist.  there is also a 3.0 2 door second gen 5spd on there for $2500 that runs perfect but I have no desire to mess with a 3.slow or a 2 door runner for that matter

ok man, I just checked out craigslist.org and searched for "1995 toyota 4runner" and I looked at the first 8 V6 listings and 7 were 4WD Automatics and 1 was a 2WD Automatic.

Show me a link for a 1995 4Runner 4WD 3.0 V6 with a 5spd. I am not saying that they do not exist, I just would like to see one. I would call the guy just to tell him how rare his truck is!
