you can usually find drivers online, jsut use a floppy from your home computer

Yeah because I dont have the internet working (this is the whole problem) and then this laptop has a floppy drive with the disk so ill put it right in....

No, i dont have internet and there is no floppy drive on this nor do i have a disk for drivers

control panel - system - hardware -  device manager    and look for !... does it have any ! ?
I'd like to quit thinking of the present as some minor insignificant preamble to something else~~~~~

Go to network connections and right click on the connection that you are trying.  go to advanced and make shure nothing is clicked like allow other network users to connect blah blah , then click settings and make shure its on recomended. ( did you try this already? )

There are no things to click on in advance...

I also cant do anything with the firewall

When you go into network connections does it look like this?  sounds like when you took out the other program it didn't reset window defaults... you need to be logged in under admin or the orignal persons name? tell me if i'm going the wrong way and if you tried all this junk...

There used to be like 4 modem internet connections and klike 4-5 LAN/High speed internet connections now there is just 3 high speed/lan internet connections

did you try the networkset wizard...?  if you havn't dissable the other connections and run the wizard

does this thing have a regular ethernet port on it?  If so, have you thought about trying it hardwired instead of wireless?  That would narrow your issues down a little...

Yeah but the router is 50+ feet away, it was working last night just FINE then once Nortons Antivirus had to get deleted everything has been fagged off and not working right. Takes way too long to turn on and a bunch of other stuff. I really hope i didnt mess up his computer because he would be soooooo pissed off at me.

what edition of norton did you have?  2005, 2006, etc...and was it regular Antivirus, or like the firewall thingy?

you didn't munk it up too bad... just need to do some stuff with the win disk. that doesn't help you right now tho.

Go to Norton site and get the removal tool. It is the only way to completely remove norton properly.

I had 2006 IS and it screwed up every computer it was on including Glen's.
I am no usine Zone Alarm and the computer is much happier faster too.
