IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

I signed that things aeons ago. Nonetheless, I think it's a valid request. Look at the success that Jeep has had with the Rubicon. Toyota could base a truck either on the new FJ or a Taco (I wish the would redesign it so it doesn't look so much like the Canyon) put lower gears in the t-case and either revive their stock solid axle or maybe put a Diamond axle on it. If not for the mall crawl crowd, at least for the rabid and loyal Toy crowd. I know, considering liability the couldn't put a 5inch lift and 35's, but the could provide a better base to start from...and keep some of the loyalists from buying Fords.

Toyota should do something like the Rubicon, wouldn't it be awsome to buy a new Toyota with straight axles, e-lockers f/r larger tires, and a Marlincrawler brand new from the factory?

I know, but they don't see it that way. Every time I see a "No more IFS" post I write Toyota...and everytime I get put on their email list, so I get news letters.

As long as people are buying they don't need to change things, also if you haven't noticed Jeep is coming out with IFS junk now too. It won't be long before they introduce the IFS Wrangler. A few years ago I saw a completely independent suspension proto-type at a car show.

I'm a BIG fan of IFS/IRS for everything but rockcrawling...someday the tech will make that better for crawling too. I just think it would be nice if they would do something for their hardcore fans.
