Quick Tire Question!!!
« on: Jul 20, 2006, 08:24:37 PM »
I have an 85  4cyl. With an Automatic tTrans, and I was wondering which tires would my truck push easier 33x12.50 or 34x10.50, with stock 4.30 gears(for now)?

                               Thanks, Justin

itll be pretty clsoe to the same, the 34s are taller but skinnier and the shorter ones are wider

It actually depends on the true diameter of the tire a 33 can be less than 33 or equal to 33 as would be the same with a 34 the width doesn't make any difference it is the diameter that counts. Also bias and steel belts will make a difference, bias ply tires tend to be twice the weight of steel belt.

the only thing i meant wiith the wider shorter tire is that it is shorter but will potentially require equal amount of torque to spin because its got a wider footprint thus meaning more friction.... either of those tires should be fine, they are pretty close

go with some 56 in michelens, j/k  should be the same, but the radial will be lighter, and aluminum rims made a huge diff on my daily driver to, less rolling mass

for a DD.....the 10.50 width is probably the better choice. They probably won't rub the leafs like the 12.50.

If I were you I would go with the 33's so you have a little more traction
