I've been reading quite a bit about Zuk and his 5.71 gear installs.  It's got me thinking.  I was planning on running 5.29's and 36" Iroks.  But, my 4Runner is going to be my new tow rig for my new toy, a small 1500 lb. pop up tent trailer   I'm thinking I'm going to need every hp possible to tow that thing around Colorado up and down the mountain passes.  Are 5.29's going to cut it?  How do you guys feel about Zuk setup 5.71's?  I've heard nothing but bad about 5.71 gears but Zuk has had quite a bit of good luck with US Gear 5.71's and a good, high quality gear install.

Any help would be great since I was planning on having my friend help me install the 5.29's but it would cost me almost $500 extra to have Zuk setup two 3rd's.

Looks like there are some guys running some big tires on 5.71's setup by zuk.  I'm looking to run a full bodied 4Runner with 36-38's and maybe an exo cage so it's going to be a heavier rig.

Anybody run Zuk gears?????

I will make you a deal on some 4 cyl 5.71 Precision gears. They were only in about 1500 miles.

As long as you arn't going to beat the crap out of them they should hold up, but I would rather see you go with 5.29's and smaller tires if you are giong to need to pull.
