taco trans to pass drop tcase
« on: Jul 10, 2006, 06:35:49 PM »
I have a 95 2.7 Taco with a 5 speed. Im going to be running a passenger side drop axle for the SAS. Which passenger side drop transfer cases will bolt up to the 5 speed 4 cyl transmission. Ive been looking around and found that the t100 transfer case will bolt up to the 3.4 but found nothing on the 2.7. I think the spline count is different. Thanks in advance.

I know I can buy adapters but which one will bolt directly to it without using adapters?

I dont think any exist but i could be wrong.
'99 SR5/TRD Tacoma w/5vzfe. SAS'd with 64" diamond axle (w/ long superset & ARB). about 5" of lift, 305/75 x16 BFG KM1's. Soon to come: 1.5" more lift (6.5"), 35 to 37" tire, undecided at this point., 63" F/F diamond rear, Marlin 4.7 tacobox.

I might be wrong but I do know that earlier LC's(never looked over the newer one's) have pass side drop. They are the only one from Toyota that I know of but maybe there are others.
Personally I would get a axle that has the driver side drop it would make things much easier.

From what I see the only difference in the w56 and w59 is 3rd gear.

Use a W59 bellhousing bolted to a W56 bolted to a 4cyl case(s). I saw this in a buggy. No adaptors, 'cept for the dual cases.

My buddy used marlins adapter to mate his w59 to gear driven duals in his 96 taco when he SASed it. He also used elockers front and rear  Gotta Love working at a toy dealership you just gotta keep an eye out in the warranty bin

yes, W59 bellhousing will bolt the w56  directly to the 2.7
