4runner back seat question
« on: Jun 19, 2006, 09:49:28 PM »
as i was vacuuming under the seat today i noticed this little trap door. I'm guessing it has something to do with getting to the fuel tank? just because its right above it i mean. or is it a sweet Secret compartment??

Yea, that's how you change the fuel pump without draining and dropping the tank.  (Unlike ford and their Contour where they cut the hole, just not big enough to get the fuel pump out through it.)  (Typical domestic engineering.)

It was designed for the little known portable toilet option on 4runners. They cancelled the option due to sanitation issues.
