NO, I am sure you mean Harbor Freight not Hussfield. That is a pipe bender. You have DOM which is tubing.

Tubing is measured from outside and pipe is measured from the inside. They are differant sizes and will kink if the dies used are not correct.

You could try it, but I am sure you will not like the results.

You will need to find someone with the proper bender.

SCH 40 is pipe. That is what that bender is for. It can be used for bumpers and sliders, but I would think twice about using it for a cage or roll bar. It is softer and not recommended for cages.

You could try to sleeve the bender, but this may not help.

Hi,
Try here http://vansantent.com/tube_bending_machines.htm or search JD2 bender. They're available all over the net.

I had no clue that benders were that affordable.  as much tubework as I plan to do in the next 5 years I might just have to get one.  the manual's are super cheap!..... the hydraulics make a good argument as well

I have a HF pipe bender now and all my truck is sch. 40.  no issues with it except it's very hard to replicate a piece w/o spending a ton of time measuring.  not what I'd do if I could afford not to.
I'm going yota JUST so I can buy from Marlin more.

I have a mtech bender about 1300 invested with 3 sets of dies 1.5 1.75 2.0
The bender is about 350  but the dies cost  and you have to make a stand

Indeed, a very coarse ratchet. Pretty easy to work with...I figure the hundreds of $$$ I saved will buy a lot of Gatorade!!! One of the vendors on Pirate gives a discount to Pirate members.

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/aspx/display_id.4883/itemNo.tube+bender/qx/Product.htm

This will work and its cheap

Have you used one of those? The dies don't look to be very deep. I am wondering if it works without kinking or flattening out.

Also there is no follower shoe to encapsulate the bend like on a better bender.

I have seen one use but I have never used it. Seemed to work good. This is what I use with the air over hydro       http://www.toolsplus1.com/eztube.htm

That looks like a easy bender to use, any problems with reverse bends or funny angles?

I have the Pro Tools 105 and it is a bear to bend 2" dom without the hydro setup. That will be added soon.

Can you please explain what the following shoe is?  :dunno:

Air over Hydro??    Does this mean the air pressure in its chamber actuates the Hydro??

total noob questions I now!  I have never touched a bender before.

What little I know of you leads me to believe you're going to build your own hydro...correct?
The bender you have is just about the same as the one we have, which means...if you post up on your build, I can rip off your plans!!!

No its fairly easy to use. I am going to get another follow shoe and cut it in half for real close bending. It bends 1 3/4" DOM no problem. I don't ever use 2" so I dint know. I have tube dies for 1", 1 1/4",
1 1/2", 1 3/4" and I have a pipe die for 1 1/4"
