my buddy just bought this yestarday for $700.00 and within three hours of purchase we slamed some 35's under there with some trimming and some hammering. my buddy dont have a lot of cash so just trying to get some ideas on what we can do for cheap.

he can get some cheap lift by getting a set of 2wd F150 springs  ,taking them apart and mixing the leaves in with his stock leaves,  just buy new tiebolts,   total cost for good flexy lift, $40

hell, if its stock and fits 35s, and they dont rub because you trimmed, just leave it alone.....

we have got two extra sets of rear springs and some lift shackels. not sure if we would need to make a new spring hanger to compensate for the shackles.

If you mean for rears up front, then no, you need longer shackles just to fit them...you can use the original hangers.  For the rear, as a cheap-o, no weld solution, see if you can scrape up another set of lift shackles, and a set of rear leaves from a spring under 2wd toyota.  The spring unders will bolt right up with longer shackle, but cause they are spring under, they are a longer main leaf than 4wd stock.  Then use some of the leaves left over from the rears up front packs to add to 2wd pack for little extra lift/spring rate.

He will need to do something with his steering if he put the rears up front since his axle will be 2 inches farther forward.  great start to a wheeler though.

just get a drop draglink and adjust it accordingly.. pretty easy.. aswell as mod the torque rod if he doesnt want highsteer yet.. we do that all the time on rigs

Those 2wd Toyo rear springs, what are they off? What year vehicle?

I'm after some flexy 2nd hand springs for the rear of my 84 Hilux, but I can't use springs off a Chevy coz we don't have Chevy's down here, but we do have lots of Toyotas.

one set off the rears is off of a 81 and the other is off of 83. wont i get poor pinion angels if i put the shackels on without a new hanger.

the truck is a 81 and we found out that it has a headerr allready on it. as well as a air horn and working kcs.

yeah I guess pull the sway bar and replace the torque rod with an old shock and you should be able to wheel better than alot of people on here

Hate to argue, but the frame mounts are the same distance apart, the 2wd main spring is actually longer eye to eye, like an inch and a half or so.

i have a rear axle out of a 90 coil sprung 4runner with a v6 and auto. i am putting 5.29's into it so we want to put the old ring and pinion gears in. will this work? and what gear ratio will it be.

cheap tricks i know.  go th your local ford dealer they throw away the stock shocks on the 250s and 350s they lift, they have 11.25 inches of travel.  ac compressor for on board air. toyotas w/4spds have 4.30s and some eairly 4runners have 4.56s and 4.88s if you can get 2 rear thirds.  supra thirds have and LSD that can be switched into stock pu thirds, or weld it. i took the wiring for my front lower marker lights, different lights rock lights in the front. stock rear springs in the front, i put 56 in chevy s10 springs in the rear using stock spring mounts and double shackles, very good flex, trim down the overload, 1 inch block.  ubolts off 14blts work for flip kits.

my buddie is trying to get his truck going for the third time two motors gone bad allready. i live in flagstaff az. and dont have to smog it so we want to remove all the emissions on it and still get it to run good never done this before on a stock carb and i know that people have got good results from them. so i just need a toyota guru to talk me through it.

allright buddy finally got it going a gin after his third motor its back on the road. in less than a month his roomate ran into his passenger door and he also ran into a straight into a tree. pics of the updated truck asap.
