Question about Painting Transmission

Got my project for the week...cleaning the transmission and transfer case.  Little before/after pic, this is gonna take a while.
Anyway, the question:
Has anyone had any heat issues after painting the transmission, like the paint acting as a thermal insulator causing the tranny to overheat?  I would like to throw some gloss paint on there to help keep dirt/mud from sticking, but not if it will be detrimental.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

never heard of anything being wrong with it :dunno:  i painted my tranny black

Ha, never heard that one before, maybe I'll try it.  OK good to know on the paint.

WD-40 works well too :thumbs:  I usually forget the trick until I'm already there, and I usually don't carry around  cooking spray :dunno:

why paint after you did all that srucbing... let it bling 
I'd like to quit thinking of the present as some minor insignificant preamble to something else~~~~~
