well i hope this helps anyone that needs to know how to change that damn PCV valve on your 1991 Toyota 22 RE i took some pictures of how to do it your self ;)

STEP 1: FINDING THE PCV VALVE

STEP 2: PULL THE HOSE OFF THE PCV VALVE

STEP 3: PULL THE PCV VALVE OFF (USEING PLYERS) [note] easy dose it do not go all psycho on it & break the rubber ring.

STEP 4: OPEN YOUR NEW PCV VALVE

STEP 5: PUT THE NEW PCV VALVE INTO THE RUBBER HOLE YOU TOOK IT OUT OF

STEP 6: PUT THE HOSE BACK ON THE NEW PCV VALVE & YOU ARE NOW DONE

I HOPE THIS HELPED OUT A FEW PEOPLE :)

Actually if you are smart then you replace the rubber grommet when replacing the PCV valve.  You can buy them at toyota and they are not that much.  Alot of the time when you pull the old PCV out then the rubber grommet will actually break.  (they get brittle from the heat)

been buying parts at kragen, huh? :headshake: well, at least you called it a Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve instead of the (surprisingly more common) PolyVinylChloride valve. :headshake:

I wasn't trying to be smart....seriously. Don't worry about it.  :) You r welcome here. It's just that most everyone on this board can figure out how to change a PCV from their FSM or Chilton's.  There are other boards that are more dedicated to how-to or maintenance type threads like, for instance, yotatech.com or about.com The threads on here are a little more technical.  :qtip:  :beerchug:

 could you imagine this on Pirate? and then  next  and finally :banned:

Not that someone may find this information useful someday, there are lots of people that don't even know what a PCV valve is or even what it does. nrg you are alright here we will only mess with you a little.

It was that little round cylinder shaped thingy that had a hose connected to it, you know the one, it's the thing you plugged and threw on the garage floor.

What made you replace your PCV valve? Engine running bad? Or you just did it, to do it?
