mounting front springs on a 2wd frame

Can any one tell me the optimal distance from hangar to hangar for the marlin 4 inch springs. I need to know the distance from the center of the front hangar to the center of the tube for the shackle.

just weld on the front hanger and then tack the rear hanger on so that the shackle sits vertical with no weight on it then lower it down and see how it looks.  It should be about 30*

I am not sure that you are reading my post correctly, There is no rear hangar to weld on or tack on. I am talking about the location of the tube for the shackle on the front springs. This is a bare frame that will be turning in to a formula toy. I do not have the axles or any thing else I just want to know the optimum distance between hanger and shackle tube. I am sorry if I am not being clear. I am still trying to decide where I want to put the front hangar, I may put it in front of the front cross member and this will determine how far back for the shackle tube. You can see the frame on my other post.

oh ok well i'd just figure out your front hanger location first and then just use the shackle jigs you buy from marlin and it should work fine.

I dunno dude, the distance is gonna change per truck. Why not just put it in the stock position and move your hanger according to that. My stock specs are:

From center of tube to front face of the stock crossmember is 44.25".

From center of tube to end of the frame stubs is 45.5".

I just thought some one would know the best or optimum distance apart. I dont have a stock position to start from. I guess I will have to measure a rig that has a 4" sas and go from there.

like sinwars said  it will be different  depending on the truck,  and because you have a 2wd frame  you really need to wait till you have the hanger and springs to mock them up  to really know where they will be  but for a guess go with 43-44 inches

For anyone that is interested I went with 44 inches center to center and only tacked the front hangar so I can change it if I need to after I get some weight on it. Thanks for all your help.
