need advice before buying

i am new too this whole rock crawling thing and after market parts. i found a rig that is ready to crawl and the guy is selling it for 8k. It is a 4 runner that i am in love with, however someone has told me that it is not worth nearly the asking price. It sounded like a deal to me, but maybe i am wrong...i am still learning the ins and outs of customized and after market parts. Go to     "rigs for sale" and go to my topic  " looking for a "ready to crawl yota".    thanks for your imput and opinion.

i have been reading that thread his runner is pretty sweet but ive seen some other rigs for sale just as capable for a better deal. there was a toy buggy thing that would be nice to have. just depends on what you want. you could build a bad rig for the cost of that 4runner but if you dont got tools or skills you could end up spending more.
what do you plan on doing in the rig it? probably wont stay that clean and nice for long if you take it out wheelin to much. i know the first trip out on the trails i run it would be messed up. then you would be feeling bad about how much you spent.
