what t-case?
« on: Apr 30, 2006, 08:26:36 PM »
i'm plannin on doing a doubler setup on my suburban and was curious what the best t-case combo would be.
truck would have either a mildly built 350 or 6.5 turbo diesel, and hopefully a manual tranny.

looking for a t-case that would live up to the power easily, has a solid reputation, and can be regeared for cheap.

an atlas would be great, but i'm lookin to do a doubler for pretty cheap, buy the two t-cases at a junkyard and rebuild/regear them myself.

i know the 205 and 208 are good, but which is the full time 4x4? this truck will also be a dd.
what other t-cases would be strong enough? a toyota landcruiser case? a dana 300? any ideas would be appreciated. i'm not looking to make monster power from the motor, i'd say 300hp and 500lb-ft of torque would be top (at most)

the 208  is a chain drive case,  the 205  is gear drive, both are part time tcases

the np203  was the full time case

get a 203  and a 205  and use the reduction box from the 203  between the 205 and your tcase
