OK...now that I got my engine all ripped apart, I should get me a reasonable torque wrench to put it back together. So, lets discuss our preferences, brands, prices and bargains. The only kind I've ever used has the needle reading the bend of the wrench shaft. What else is there and what will do the job without costing me $200.00.
the pointer type are junk
Different tools for different jobs. They are useful, but for different things. Maybe not rebuilding an engine, but perhaps good for testing the pinion preload when setting up gears.
i used a harbor freight 3/8 to put mine together most 1/2 torque wrenches arnt acurate at lower readings. i got mine on sale for $11.99. i have a snap on 1/2 and i was wondering about the harbor freight ones so i checked it using my snap on and it was right on. dont use the pointer style they are garbage not very acurate use a click style.
