Well I've started on the exhust upgrades, got the headers. Nice pair of Flowtech painting them up tonight bake them to harden the paint in the morning and install in the afternoon. Check it out...

Make sure you let us know how those Flowtechs work out. Doesn't seem like there's a whole lotta people running those. :dunno:

Ya but they seem to be the only ones making headers for my 4.7 in the Tundra.  I like the way feeder tubes from each cylinder dump into a four to five inch tube before necking down to the Cat.. Big drop in back pressure. I may get a couple High-flow cat to replace the stock ones, I am going to have to custom design the exhaust side my self. No one makes a dual exhaust system for my truck. The systems out there  all run 2" pipe and Single Muffler to a twin exhaust tip..High back pressure lost power..

Ok folks here are some more pics.. Got to bake that paint hard( Hi-temp Paint ) :flamer:

What about going to a custom muffler shop and telling them what you wan't?  Expensive I know, but maybee worth it.

Should I have done that to mine ???

The paint will bake on and harden the first time you get the pipes nice and hot.  I just had about 12 coats and by baking them before I had them installed the paint is hard and does not scrape off easy..  :driving:

Hey, It's been a week and the truck is running great with the new headers. The paint was only rated up to about 1100 or 1200F, :flamer: that got cooked black but thats ok.. looks fine by me.  She moves real nice. :driving: :burnout:

The new truck has a HUGE bunk on it( 70+ inches) and there is lots of room for storage..Not like that last truck 46 inch bunk, and no storage..It's got a super single bed..lots of room for a seat cover and me... :eyebrow: :eyebrow: :wink2:

I was talkin to one of the welders we have come to work occassionally about doing some stainless, and he said he was building a set of stainless headers and exhaust for a guy's hot rod.  I forget exactly what he said materials cost was, but it seems like his cost was well over $1500.  It woulda been cool if you had dynod the truck before and after to see what and where the improvements were.

There is a dyno shop around here.. Tell you what get a collection together  to pay for it and I'll make the runs.

Just kidding.. I may dyno it, but would it be a true reading now, the headers have changed the tires size is slightly bigger then stock, and I am swapping in the Plat.. plugs this week or next.. She not stock any more..
I was also talking to a custom shop and they want $3000 for madrell bent custom work.. I think I can do it myself for around $800 to $1000, and it'll be like nothing you can buy in a shop.. Off the dual cats, X-pipe(custom made) crosses under tail stock of T/C, bends towards front of truck, around upward bend in truck frame to run outside frame rail, through two glass packs( one per side), and out through tips just at the back of cab. In short the right side will exhaust on the left and the left side will exhaust on the right.  Everything will be foreward of the Box/fuel tanks etc.  If I Flatbed the truck or just move the box back( relocating mounts) then I'll bring the exhaust up between the cab and box.

Yes I know lots of  :headscratch:  :headscratch: :headscratch: :headscratch:   and  :flamer: :flamer: :flamer:, but I am sure it's worth it.
