Plus with the shell on, people can't throw crap in the back of your truck. :tantrum:

Funny you should mention that, when I went down to unhook my truck from the motorhome yesterday, there were a few presents in the bed for me.

I  like it too but once I had it off the truck I realized that I had nowhere to store my 2 spare tires, Hilift jack, my emergancy backpack and all the other spare parts I carry. So I had to put it back on or I would have been picked apart by the vultures. I had to take everything out if I didn't want to chance losing something by some punk with sticky fingers.

fair enough, unfortunately

Generally, once people are out of high school, they grow up a little.  It doesn't happen all that much, at least not to me anyway

Not true. Everywhere you go there will be someone who will see your truck with your 1 or 2 pop cans in the bed and figure, well, that's a garbage can and swish it in.
Sometimes I don't mind, but sometimes it makes me so mad! It happened at my technical college parking lot. Same place where my Subaru was a victim of a parking lot hit & run. Bastids.

That really isn't true either.  I guess its just a matter of what kind of area you're in  I have a feeling I've owned a truck a bit longer than you, no offense.  But lets no get off topic here, this is RS's thread.

During my trip out to Johnson Valley I had a little run-in with a large ledge and lost. The sucker was above my bumper but there was this little notch that if I hit it just right I could once again skirt through without knocking in my fenders. Well not only did I miss the notch but ran head on into the ledge. It bent my bumper into the fender and valance, so I had to bend it back to even drive it without rubbing.

So today, my 1st day off since the incident I decided to finally eliminate that issue, yup you guessed it I broke out the saw and whacked that sucker off at the bottom. My poor virgin truck has now gone under the knife and is no longer of stock body, next to go will be the rear section on the bed but for now here's some before and after pics.

All I did was take a sheet of paper to get a straight line, marked it off where I wanted to cut and ten minutes later  viola.

I edited the post for accuracy.

Next I took it to the graveyard at Cal Mini so it could be harvested for parts.

Well what happened is I traded my brother for the Samurai with the Klune, then it was traded to TruckTrader for the Mog and he sold it to another friend of ours who took it out and wheeled the piss out of it. He laid it on its side on the waterfall on Dishpan Springs. At that point it wasn't so bad until they tried to right it and you can only guess what happened from that point, it is a long downhill slope from the waterfall and as they righted it for some reason it ended up on its nose doing a pirouette and it was downhill from there. Fortunately there was nobody inside or it would have been bad for him.
