rebuilding knuckles
« on: Apr 16, 2006, 04:40:24 PM »
I bought a knuckle service kit and want to know if it is necessary to aquire the special service tools to reset the knuckle bearing preload. I plan on replacing the knuckle bearings and have a pull scale to check if it is within spec but was just wondering. Will it be ok to just go back with the factory shims since this knuckle has never been rebuilt before.

if you have a pull scale and can change the shims if needed you should not have any promblems. :crossed:

I already have the hub socket. I was just worried about the bearing preload. I guess all I can do is  :crossed:

Thanks

I just put a Kit in mine , you shouldnt have any problems , its pretty much simple , just keeping up with all the parts is important . I used a fish scale to set the preload .Good Luck !!!!
